Rudram: A Multimedia App for Devotees of Lord Shiva
Rudram is a free multimedia application available on Android developed by Meena Sachithanandan. The app is designed for devotees of Lord Shiva who seek inner peace, fulfillment, and blessings from the deity. The app is a recitation of Sri Rudram followed by one anuvAkam of Chamakam, which constitutes one unit of the Rudra Homam.
The Sri Rudram is a prayer to Rudra, the destroyer of all evil, and the supreme lord. The prayer has two parts - Namakam and Chamakam, each with eleven sections. The Namakam is a prayer to Rudra to transform himself into a peaceful form and do good to us, while Chamakam lists out the blessings to be received from a prayer to Rudra and prays for his blessings to regulate and bless our life. The app provides a way for devotees to recite these prayers and seek blessings from Lord Shiva.
